On September 13, 14, and 16, 2025, various local congregations and extensions in the Ecclesiastical District of Zamboanga Del Norte, Philippines, held activities “aimed at strengthening the faith of the brethren and also sharing our faith with our fellowmen,” attested Brother Gavino Mabido, district supervising minister.
Drawing activity
First of the said activities was the drawing activity participated in by the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) members from the Local Congregation of Sindangan and Siayan Extension that was held at the compound of Siayan Extension on September 13. Guided by resident ministerial worker Brother Tyson Primor Bansalay, CWS officers assisted the children in showcasing their artistic prowess.
The children had the Iglesia Ni Cristo Central Temple as inspiration for their drawings.
“I had so much fun participating in the activity. I took this chance to show my talent in drawing,” said CWS member Jhon Love Ombo.
Fun walk
To nurture the physical well-being of the Buklod members in the Local Congregation of Gutalac and Milidan Extension, a fun walk activity was held on September 13.
The Buklod members bonded during their one-kilometer walk along Siasi Road, Brgy. Milidan, Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte.
“An event like this truly helps me stay healthy. It’s important to make time for exercise to strengthen my body, especially since I use it in service to the Lord God,” expressed Edwin Colita, a deacon.
Coastal clean-up drive
To help care for the environment, members of Buklod, KADIWA, and Binhi in the Local Congregations of Dipolog City, Tampilisan, and Tamil held a coastal clean-up drive on September 13.
Equipped with cleaning materials, the brethren went to coastal areas within their neighborhoods. They swept the area, removed and collected weeds and other debris, and properly disposed of them afterwards.
“Cleaning our surroundings has a positive impact on the environment, which benefits us also as doing so helps prevent illnesses,” shared Dipolog City Congregation choir member Ruel Penasa.
Rescue training seminar
To reinforce the knowledge of Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) members on rescue operations during disasters and emergencies, the Local Congregation of Dipolog City hosted a rescue training seminar on September 14 at the congregation’s compound.
The resource speakers were Philippine Coast Guard member John Patrick Tuliao, Manukan fire marshal Arnel Ladag, and registered nurse Raquel Mariano. They discussed topics on basic water rescue, fire rescue, and the importance of maintaining orderliness and disinfecting rescue tools, respectively.
“This event truly gave me the knowledge and confidence to perform basic first aid. I will use what I’ve learned to help fellow Church members, even nonmembers, who may be in need,” said SCAN member Ediza Matias.
Worldwide Evangelical Mission
On September 16, more than 600 guests attended the Worldwide Evangelical Mission at the houses of worship of the Local Congregations of Dipolog City, Liloy, Punta, and Sindangan.
The said venues were connected via livestreaming to the house of worship of the San Francisco Congregation, Ecclesiastical District of Central, Quezon City, Philippines, where Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, Deputy Executive Minister, officiated the said evangelistic event.
Jenna Dhel Francisco, a guest, said that she accepted the invitation because “I’ve been curious about the Church Of Christ, especially since it continues to grow and thrive.” Regarding the lesson preached she added, “It was truly based on what is written in the Bible. I would be glad to be invited again to future events of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.”— With reports from Ezra Baclaan
