The ecclesiastical districts of Eastern Ontario, Canada, and Central Valley, California added new officers to be of help in leading and edifying fellow members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ). They took their oath of duty during special gatherings that the said districts held on October 14 and 18, 2025, respectively.
Most of the Church officers in Eastern Ontario District gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Scarborough, others at that of Nepean, Ontario Congregation and Cornwall Group Worship Service as the event’s proceedings were streamed live there. Meanwhile, together with those in Scarborough were the officers from the local congregations of Durham, Markham, Oshawa, Rouge Park, and Victoria.
The said remote sites, such as Nepean Congregation house of worship, were deemed necessary being almost 400 kilometers away from the host site.
District supervising minister Brother Marlon Guinto officiated at the sacred occasion. He preached a Bible-based lesson emphasizing Church duties as God-given calling which, when always dedicatedly fulfilled, are opportunities to prove firm faith in, genuine loyalty to, and utmost love for God. Afterwards, assistant district supervising minister Brother Rodrigo Malacad Jr. administered the oath-taking of new officers.
“This duty I have is as important as any other duty in the Church being ways to become closer to God while helping my fellow brethren likewise experience being closer to Him,” said newly-sworn district Binhi president JR Robles from the Local Congregation of Durham.
“I thank our Father in heaven for blessing me with this new duty,” expressed Alan Lacho, who took oath as a head deacon in the Local Congregation of Markham. “As I’ve promised to be committed to my duty, I will perform it for as long as I have life and strength.”
“My Church duty is an accomplishment,” remarked group secretary Pamela Delos Reyes from the Local Congregation of Rouge Park. After three years of being an active Church member, “I’m very happy that I’m a Church officer now.”
The Ecclesiastical District of Central Valley, California held its special gathering at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Fresno.
District supervising minister Brother Isaias Antinew led the edification activity. He reiterated therein to long-time and would-be officers alike the biblical lesson about holding firmly to their divine election and Church duty no matter what, for them to receive God’s promise of blessings and, ultimately, salvation.
District Church officers overseer Brother Benjie delos Reyes then led the oath-taking of the 25 new officers, after which was the giving of certificates of recognition to 28 Church officers for their many years of active service in the Church.
Among those recognized was the Orosi Congregation head deacon Daniel Aglipay Sr. for his 33 years of actively fulfilling the said function. “I’m joyful and grateful to our Almighty God for His guidance and mercy in the performance of my duty,” he said. — With assistance from Edward Lemuel Castro and Melissa Benedicto
