“This special gathering is truly a great blessing, a manifestation of God’s love and concern for us, Church officers. It has given me added inspiration as I continue fulfilling my duties motivated by faith and love,” said Madrid Sur Congregation head deacon Emil Castillo.
During a special gathering for Church overseers, such as deacons, deaconesses, and group overseers, including group secretaries, on October 26, 2025, attendees were reminded that their “efforts in fulfilling Church duties will never be in vain, as these truly please the Lord God.” It was officiated at by Spain Ecclesiastical District assistant supervising minister Brother Gilbert Aniciete.
The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Madrid served as the main venue. Officers there were joined by those from the Local Congregations of Madrid Sur and Madrid Norte. For officers in other congregations far from the said venue, they attended the activity at their respective houses of worship, which were connected to the main site via videoconferencing.
“God’s words I received has all the more made my faith solid so that I can continue fulfilling my duty in the Church,” said Barcelona Congregation deaconess Estilita Cabiles.
After the study of God’s words, district multimedia adviser Brother Christian Tantay administered the oath-taking of 48 newly appointed officers. “The lesson serves as a guide for the officers in supervising the brethren under their care, loving them like how God loves His servants,” said Brother Tantay in an interview afterwards.
“Having a Church duty is a gift from God. I will perform my duty to the best of my ability, especially with strong faith in Him,” said newly-appointed Buklod president Junderick Bola from Madrid Congregation.
KADIWA member and newly-sworn officer Kathleen Mercano from Barcelona Congregation said, “I will continue loving the brethren under my care, as it is my way of devoting myself to my God-given duty.” — With reports from Noemi Jimenez
