The Ecclesiastical District of Saskatchewan held an Appreciation Day for Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) officers and members, together with their families, at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Regina on November 2, 2025. Attendees came from all the district’s local congregations and group worship services.

They first gathered at the house of worship. After a prayer led by district Christian Family Organizations overseer Brother John Alvin Ching, district supervising minister Brother Ramil Macaspac read a message from the Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, honoring the SCAN officers’ and members’ selfless efforts and quick response to the call of their duty.

Afterwards, everyone in attendance proceeded to the function hall. There, Brother Macaspac and his wife Irine led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of a photo gallery showcasing the organization’s activities through the years.

“It’s so great to see that so many SCAN members came with their respective families. There were even those who traveled several hours to get here. Clearly that’s unity and dedication,” said Brother Ching.

Attendees also watched the CEBSI Films-produced “RESKYU” (rescue), which further highlighted how correct and prompt response among SCAN officers and members can save many lives. That brought to mind one memorable experience that SCAN district president Rex Espina had. It was the Care For Humanity activity that was held at Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada during a severe winter storm. “Roads were icy and dangerous. But still, SCAN members escorted the volunteer brethren on their way back from Estevan to Regina to ensure that they arrived home safely,” he recounted.

Such sacrifices of SCAN members are understood by their families. “Fulfilling my duties requires many hours. With my family’s support, especially from my wife, I can fully carry out my duties and responsibilities,” added Espina.

SCAN member Anson Weber from Estevan Congregation shared, “Fulfilling my duty helps me to become more dedicated to God. That is what I teach my family, and that it is good to support one another, to help people, and to remain united in the Church.” — With assistance from district multimedia
