Doctrinal instructees, or those who are undergoing instruction in the fundamental teachings of the Bible upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), and candidates for baptism in the Ecclesiastical District of Spain attended a special gathering on November 9, 2025.
The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Barcelona served as the main venue. The other 10 local congregations and four group worship services of the district were connected to the main site via videoconferencing.
District supervising minister Brother Froilan Enriquez Jr. officiated at the special gathering. In his Bible-based homily, he reminded the would-be members that they should not waste the opportunity that God gave them to be saved on Judgment Day, that is, they must strive to reach their baptism and become active members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo until the end.
Among the attendees was Marilou Benavidez, a baptismal candidate from Barcelona Congregation. She was introduced to the Church by choir member Emercidita Secuban. “I’ve learned from the lesson that joining the Church is not easy. I will encounter severe trials. However, I should not lose heart. Instead, I should stand firm in my membership in the Church,” said Benavidez. “Whatever trials and persecutions I will face, I will never neglect my duties unto the Lord God, such as attending worship services. I will never forget to always pray unto Him.”
“Persecutions and tribulations will surely come to those who join the true Church. Their faith will be tested. In this gathering, the aspiring members were reminded that God will not forsake them. He Himself promised that He will provide their needs. He will help and guide them in their journey to being members of the Church,” said Brother Enriquez. — With reports from Noemi Jimenez
