Members and officers of the Society of Communicators and Networkers (SCAN) in the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan South sought to sharpen their life-saving skills by attending the CPR/AED and First Aid Seminar and Workshop held at Tainan Recreation Center on November 16, 2025.

They received further knowledge and training in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and proper use of the automated external defibrillator (AED).

District SCAN president Jerney Javier, who led the opening prayer, said in an interview: “As these times become more perilous due to various illnesses, it is crucial that we possess necessary life-saving skills for Church Of Christ members and nonmembers who need it.” This was basically the event’s rationale.

The seminar-workshop was conducted in collaboration with the National Resuscitation Council of Taiwan (NRCT) whose representatives handled the actual seminar and training.

“I learned how to properly conduct CPR and use AED which is beneficial not only in emergency situations but in our everyday lives,” said Nathaniel Fulgado from the Yongkang Congregation.

Mark Noelle Lopez, from the same congregation, shared that the activity “allowed me to further understand that it is our duty to be prepared at all times in responding to emergency situations to save lives.”

District safety overseer Brother Eduard Angelo San Pedro, who supervised the conduct of learning activity, said the closing prayer. Afterwards, NRCT-issued certificates were given to the attendees.

“We are truly glad and thankful to the Church Administration for helping us be equipped with skills that we need to perform our duties, to live up to our motto ‘Saving lives is our priority’,” enthused Javier. — With reports from Jingson Tolentino and Maricar Javier
