Following the approval of the Church Administration, Cabugao S. has been elevated to the status of a full-fledged local congregation from being an extension of the Local Congregation of Suyo, in the Ecclesiastical District of Candon City, Ilocos Sur, for some three years since 2023.
The first worship service of the Cabugao S. as a congregation was held on January 21, 2026. District supervising minister Brother Eli C. Hebrew officiated at the holy gathering.
During his sermon, Brother Hebrew emphasized from the Holy Scriptures that pleasing the Lord God should be the priority of Church members so that they could hope that He would always be present in their lives. He taught that they could do so by zealously obeying all of His commands to them. He exhorted to always consult God with every aspect of their lives through sincere prayer.
“This congregation began with a few brethren residing here but through God’s abiding help and their dedication in the works of the Church, they increase in number,” Brother Hebrew said in an interview after the gathering. “That is a proof that Church members here highly esteem God’s words by obeying them at all times.”
“This is a great blessing to us here in Cabugao. I’m so thankful for God heard our devotional prayers. He gave fruition to our efforts in performing our duties to him. I promise to dedicate myself to fulfilling my duties in the Church no matter what,” said Giovanni Banaña, a deacon.
The place of worship of the Cabugao S. Congregation is located at Zone IV, Brgy. Cabugao, Suyo, Ilocos Sur. Brother Eraño Velasco is the current resident ministerial worker. — With assistance from Reinzi Earle Merza and Ed Leonard Ibasco
