January 24, 2026 saw the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in two Philippine provinces, one in Mindanao and another in the Visayas, admit new converts into the true Christian faith.
Specifically and respectively, these were in the ecclesiastical districts of Davao del Sur and of Tacloban City, Leyte, each of which conducted baptism for the first time this year reaping abundant fruits of their respective propagation efforts for the last few months.
Per reports, both districts were preparing more prospective members for baptism in the coming months.
Davao del Sur
Davao del Sur District assistant supervising minister Brother Ronald C. Azarcon officiated at the baptismal gathering held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Digos. In his Bible-based preaching, he taught the would-be members what was expected of them as servants of God so that they would surely receive the blessings that come with their divine election or membership in the true Church Of Christ.
The 84 candidates for baptism then took their oath of membership administered by the district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer Brother Richard Pascual, after which they were baptized in the prepared baptismal pools.
“Praises be to God for our district’s success early on, in this first month of the year,” said Brother Pascual. On behalf of the district, he added, “We will continue propagating God’s words so that He will call many more people into the true Church, which is glorifying to His sight.”
Tacloban, Leyte
In Tacloban, the baptismal gathering took place in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Palo.
It was officiated at by assistant district supervising minister Brother Alberto Tolentino. The baptismal candidates listened intently as he encouraged them during his homily to remain faithful until the end for them to receive salvation on Judgment Day. He further exhorted them to value and care for their Church membership by doing the things that please God.
Afterwards, the would-be members took their oath of membership before being immersed into water as their actual baptism.
Brother George Maliwat, the district LOS overseer stated, “Our district is always one with the Church Administration in the intensified work of propagation. On behalf of all ministers, ministerial workers, and Church officers in the district, we will be even more diligent in sharing the true message of salvation so that many people may come to know the truth and be saved on Judgment Day.”— With reports from Joren de la Piña
