The local congregations of Bayan-bayanan and Marikina Centro in the Ecclesiastical District of Marikina, in the Philippines, held blood donation activities a month apart, on January 17 and February 14, 2026, respectively.

Bayan-bayanan Congregation conducted such humanitarian event at Rosita Ville Covered Court, while Marikina Centro Congregation’s was at the Garden Mirror Events Place. Their districts’ Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers collaborated efforts with the Philippine Heart Center and the Makati Medical Center, respectively, whose patients will be these events’ beneficiaries.

The brethren who qualified as blood donors first underwent necessary medical checkups and health screenings such as vital signs, physical checkups, and blood typing/hemoglobin checking. Then, they proceeded to the actual blood donation.

“I can’t count how many times I’ve donated blood,” said Bayan-bayanan Congregation Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) officer Mylene Orsal. “I’m happy to donate blood to help those who are in need of it.” Her son Mark, also a SCAN officer, took after her. “At first, I was afraid. But now it’s my second time. I’m also happy and really want to help other people,” he said.

“I’m very glad to participate in activities supported by the Church Administration like this one. For five years since I started donating blood, I’ve donated for the 17th time now,” shared Bayan-bayanan Congregation Children’s Worship Service officer Eugene Gadingan.

“As we’re taught in the Church Of Christ to help and show compassion to others, especially to those who are in need, I do not hesitate to donate blood. I’m willing to do it again in future blood donation activities,” said Marikina Centro Congregation deaconess Henrietta Ocampo. – With reports from Claidenn Villar
