“It’s a great blessing for the members here to have a GWS. Now, worship service is just five minutes away. This will inspire them to fulfill their duties more faithfully,” said Brother Marco Eraño Jacob, resident minister of Hamilton Congregation, from which the Grimsby Group Worship Service (GWS) sprang forth.
The inaugural worship service of the recently established GWS in the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Ontario, Canada, was held at The Casablanca Hotel, 4 Windward Drive, Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, on February 14, 2026.
During the inaugural worship service, district edification overseer Brother Jesse Anthony Bocobo led the opening prayer. Assistant district supervising minister Brother Leopoldo V. Ricardo delivered the lesson from the Bible. He emphasized God’s expectation that His true servants uphold holiness until the end. That way, He will bless them, especially salvation on Judgment Day. District Technical Support for Videostreaming coordinator Brother Fernando Manaloto led the prayer after.
Grimsby is a lakeside town in the Niagara Region, Ontario known for its rich history and scenic beauty. Brethren there would travel 28 kilometers to Hamilton to attend worship services.
“For the brethren, it [the GWS’s establishment] ensures their remaining active in worship services as well as in the many activities of the Church,” said Brother Ricardo in an interview after the gathering. Also, “this is God’s way of opening opportunities for those not yet in the faith to know the truth that leads to salvation,” he added.
The GWS’s succeeding worship services will be held at Muñoz Residence, 85 Chestnut Drive, Grimsby. — With assistance from district multimedia
