The Ecclesiastical District of Marikina, in the Philippines, hosted a Fun and Friendship Day for Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) children with developmental delay, at the conference room of the Local Congregation of Parang on February 22, 2026.
Led by district supervising minister Brother Cyrus Jose E. Dizon, the activity was organized by the district Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers. Cassey Tayoto and Kimberly Justine Raytana served as hosts for the event. After the opening prayer led by district chronicler Brother Gener Necio, CSD adviser Brother Edrian Ordenes delivered the opening remarks. “Through this activity, we extend the love of the Church Administration for us, even for persons with disabilities,” he said.
Afterwards, resource speaker Michelle Hicalde, Parang Congregation finance officer and a licensed teacher in special education, discussed parenting tips for those with special children. She underscored that “children, even those with special needs, are a blessing from God whom we ought to understand and cherish.”
Included in the program were fun and interactive games that filled the children with delight. Attendees were also entertained by a rendition of INC original song Ikaw Ang Inspirasyon (“You Are The Inspiration”) by Audrey Nadine Magdato, a Children’s Worship Service member.
The get-together concluded with closing remarks and prayer by Brother Ordenes.
“We were so glad to have this activity with the differently abled whom we’ve come to love,” expressed district CSD president Lovely Salles. Alliah Cinco, district CSD vice president, promised, saying, “We’ll take care of them to the best of our ability so that they, too, can uphold serving God.” — With photos from Marikina District Multimedia
