Brethren in the Ecclesiastical District of South Central States, Texas, commemorated their district’s fifth anniversary through a socializing activity called “International Cuisine Social Event” at Blue Ridge Gymnasium on February 14, 2026.

“God has shown His love and mercy to our district. I am fortunate to have witnessed its growth. The local congregations thrive because of the increasing number of members in eight different states that make up our district,” said district edification overseer and Jacksonville, Arkansas Congregation resident minister Brother Roy A. Aquino.

“Heavy rain started pouring even before the activity started, but the brethren were just unhindered, they still attended to show their unity,” attested district Christian Family Organizations overseer Brother Christian Ira B. Ross.

As its name signifies, the activity featured cuisines of Hawaii, Mexico, Philippines, and Japan. Over lunch, all in attendance were also treated to performances featuring national dances and a Japanese Fashion Show.

Brethren in the local congregations of Blue Ridge, Oklahoma City, Fort Worth, and Dallas respectively presented these, from the food to the dance presentations. “Preparing dishes of a country and this whole socializing have been meaningful to me and to our congregation,” said district Society of Communicators and Networkers International (SCAN) president and Oklahoma City Congregation’s head deacon Rico Navarro. “Doing so fostered fellowship and strengthened bonds.”

South Central States District sprang forth from the Texas District. It has 10 local congregations, 10 group worship services, and two extensions in its care, which are located at the states of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

On their behalf, district supervising minister Brother Andrey B. Silva said in an interview after the event: “We’re joyous and thankful to the Lord God for the blessings He continues to shower upon the Church, our district included. We’re also thankful to the Church Administration for continuously caring for and guiding us in this life so that we may attain the true life in the future.”
