“I’m truly inspired by the brethren’s eager desire to participate in this clean-up drive. They were unhindered by the inclement weather,” attested Darwin Congregation head deacon Irineo Pasuquin. “The brethren said ‘Rain or shine, we will be one with the Church Administration.’ Everyone’s willing and ready to face the harsh weather,” added the same congregation’s resident ministerial worker Brother Marson Ramirez.
Coinciding with “Clean Up Australia Day,” the nation’s annual environmental event every first Sunday of March, clean-up drives under the INC Giving project of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) was spearheaded by its members from the Ecclesiastical District of Western Australia on March 1, 2026.
Brethren from the local congregations within Western Australia gathered at Sir James Mitchell Park in Perth. Meanwhile, brethren from the Local Congregations of Darwin and Palmerston City in the Northern Territory gathered at Darwin Esplanade and Palmerston Recreational Centre, respectively.
“We hope to be of help to the community while strengthening the brotherhood in the Church,” said Larry Garcia from Queens Park Congregation, one of the organizers and facilitators of the activity.
Led by the district supervising minister Brother Nolly Esperanza, together with the ministers and ministerial workers, brethren worked together to clean public areas. Donning INC Giving shirts and equipped with cleaning materials, such as sanitary gloves, trash pickers, and sacks, they collected various types of waste, ensuring proper sorting and disposal afterwards.
“It feels wonderful to be here, especially knowing that we do it with the same purpose—sharing our faith and doing good things for the community,” said Yumi Andrea Visleno from Perth Congregation. — With reports from Hannah Sharlene Leoncio
