The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Roxas City united for a coastal clean-up drive at Brgy. Baybay in Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines on March 14, 2026 as part of commemorating its 73rd anniversary.
Resident minister Brother Daniel Anievas Jr. spearheaded the said activity. “This coastal clean-up drive is vital for removing debris from our shores, thereby helping prevent pollution that damages our ecosystems and thus contributing to the safety of the public’s health,” he explained.
After receiving necessary instructions, the brethren proceeded to collecting litter along the coast. With plastic gloves and rakes, they then put the debris in trash bags after which they disposed of properly.
“What moves me to join and unite with this clean-up drive, among others, is my obedience to the Church Administration,” said head deacon Jessie Alivio. “This activity, organized by Christian Family Organizations officers in our congregation, allows us to show our deep concern for the environment and to actively help our city stay presentable and beautiful.”
The clean-up drive was second in a list of several activities for the commemoration of the congregation’s anniversary, the first of which was a fun walk held a week earlier, on March 7. Other slated activities include INC Giving, Pasugo Drive, evangelical mission, and INConcert.
