Towards the end of March, the Ecclesiastical District of Urdaneta City, Pangasinan continued to hold significant activities on propagation and edification. These included a baptism and evangelical mission, and special gathering for the oath-taking of new Church officers.

On March 28, district supervising minister Brother Dante Parco led the baptismal gathering that was held at the house of worship of the Cayambanan Congregation. He exhorted the 84 would-be members through God’s words written in the Bible that they must treasure their calling in the true Church by, among others, living a holy life devoted to God.

Before their immersion to water as the Bible prescribed, the baptismal candidates, with raised right hand, solemnly swore before God to live faithfully by His words and serve and worship Him as long as they live.

“I’m truly thankful to God for calling me into the true religion,” said newly baptized member Rodolfo Nishi from the Kilmasan Congregation. “What really paved my way to my conversion was when I compared the teaching in the Church Of Christ against my former religion’s. I found out that here in the true Church, the teachings are truly biblically accurate. I firmly believe that I will be saved being in the true Church.”

The day before, on March 27, assistant district supervising Brother Gerson B. Bernisca officiated at the special gathering of Church officers that was held at the house of worship of the Binalonan Congregation.

Brother Bernisca delivered a Scripture-based lesson about how brethren who become Church officers are blessed. He taught them that as they devotedly fulfill their respective Church duties that God entrusted them, they all the more secure their own salvation.

After the homily, new officers took their oath of duty. One of them, Irish Coleen Vallejos who was sworn in as safety officer from the Carosucan Congregation, said, “I desire to utilize my skills in serving God in the true Church. I believe that by doing so, I’m able to please Him.”

Meanwhile, on March 25, brethren from the Local Congregation of Artacho conducted an evangelical mission, inviting over 200 guests to listen to the study of God’s words. It was held as a part of the celebration of their congregation’s 86th anniversary.

In preparation to the event and to reach out to more people in their neighborhood, the brethren, led by their resident ministerial worker Brother Venancio Aves II, distributed copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazine.

District Light of Salvation overseer Brother Elmer Zambale preached a biblical lesson pointing out that the sole and sure hope of man’s receiving salvation on Judgment Day is entering and remaining in the true Church Of Christ.

One of the guests named Agnes Saldo said, “The lesson was very clear to me. The Lord Jesus Christ’s return is so near. I understand now why the world is worsening—which is also among the signs that the end is near. By entering the true religion, I can prepare for our Lord’s return.”

Regarding the zeal of the brethren in the various Church works, Brother Parco said on behalf of the district, “Amid the worsening situation of the world, the brethren here continue to grow in their activeness in all the Church endeavors. They will not cease to be devoted in serving God. They will remain united with the Church Administration no matter what.”— With assistance from Elykim Mamasig and April May Lopez
