As part of the series of activities for the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the district, an Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Appreciation Day was hosted by the Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan  on August 3, 2025. Held under the INC Giving project, the activity benefited more than 120 OFWs.

Led by district supervising minister Brother Amante Rodriguez, this humanitarian activity was held at the auditorium of the Smile Omori Building, Omori-Kita District, Ota City, Tokyo. “This activity is cognizant to the call of our beloved Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo to continue showing compassion to our fellowmen in obedience to God’s command. We made sure that those who attended felt welcome in the Church,” he said in an interview afterwards.

Prior to the giving of care packages, the OFWs were first treated to musical performances of talented brethren showcasing the INC original songs. It was followed by a video presentation featuring the many Scripture-inspired endeavors of the Church in various parts of the world.

“I felt the genuine appreciation among the brethren. They are willing to be of assistance, even in battling stress. Such a gesture meant a lot to me, a big help, as an OFW,” said Kevin Permalino, who resides in Yokohama.

“Being far from loved ones, and the economic crises to consider, OFWs are often affected by stress. Through this event, we hoped to show them that the Church is more than willing to help them cope during dire situations, as doing so is a commandment of God written in the Bible,” Brother Rodriguez added on behalf of the district. — With reports from Kaezeth Mercado of INC News Section
