Church members in the Local Congregation of Austin, Ecclesiastical District of Texas invited guests to their first evangelical mission this year, which was held in their house of worship on January 17, 2026.

Brother Noel C. Caritativo, district supervising minister, officiated the evangelical mission. In his Bible-based lecture, he pointed out that everything in this world, including life itself, is fleeting and temporary. Thus, above anything else, what man should strive after is that which is eternal—life in the Holy City.

After the propagation event, the brethren welcomed the guests to a get-together held at the function hall.

Guests’ reactions

“I like the way that the minister preached because it was clear and direct to the point. He was just asking the questions and the answers came from the Bible,” said Eric Gboche, who originally came from Ivory Coast, Africa, now residing in Austin, Texas. Gboche was invited by head deacon Reymond Rillera to the evangelistic event.

Another guest was Jonathan Tan whom secretary and local congregation chronicler Melissa Canlapan invited. Originally from Myanmar, he is now living in Austin. He said, “I agree with what the minister taught from the Bible, that people shouldn’t focus too much on material things. People also need the spiritual treasures in heaven that cannot be destroyed.” He added, “I’m willing to even let the Bible studies be held in my own home so my whole family can listen to the teachings of this Church.”

Members’ zeal

“There are still many people who do not know about the true services to God and the nearing Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ. So I will never stop sharing the true faith, as reminded also by our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo,” conveyed Rillera.

“Helping in the work of propagation is part of our duties to the Almighty God. Likewise, I want all my friends and loved ones to be saved on Judgment Day. That is why I will continue to invite them to listen to God’s teaching upheld in the Church Of Christ,” said Canlapan.
