On days prior and leading to the 36th anniversary of the Local Congregation of Balibago, Ecclesiastical District of Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, in the Philippines, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members there held a series of activities on the month of June 2025.

Clean-up drive

The first of the activities was the clean-up drive held on June 6, along Balibago Hi-way and nearby streets, for which more than 300 brethren participated. Right after tidying the surroundings, they proceeded to cleaning the house of worship compound.

“The activity aimed not only to help the community in cleaning the surroundings but more importantly to promote enthusiasm among brethren as we show solidarity with the Church Administration,” said head deacon Benedicto de Guzman.

Pasugo drive

A total of 455 copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazine and religious pamphlets were distributed by the brethren to those living at SBI Compound, Barangay Pulong Sta. Cruz, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna on June 12.

The location was “hilly and muddy due to rain,” shared Buklod president Norman Fabella. Be that as it may, “it did not hinder the brethren to continue helping in the sharing of the faith to bring honor and glory to God,” he further said.

Evangelical mission

About 300 guests showed up to attend the evangelical mission on June 13. They filled to capacity the 180-seater house of worship, even the overflow seats set up within its vicinity.

The guests first watched a video presentation featuring a family’s journey towards their conversion into the Church Of Christ. Then, resident minister Brother Jan Larry Miranda preached a Bible-based lesson reiterating the importance of joining the Church Of Christ for people to have the sure hope of receiving salvation on Judgment Day.

“I’ve heard from the Bible that the end is near. I need to make sure that my family is safe. So, my husband and I decided to enlist ourselves as doctrinal instructees inside the Church Of Christ,” said guest Arra Dudang. Assistant group overseer Sonia Pobre who brought them along, said, “I’ll continue guiding the Dudang Family. I’ll help them in their process of joining the Church.”

Special worship service

The highlight of the congregation’s commemoration of its 36th anniversary happened on June 14. Church Officers Overseer Brother Romer Galang led the brethren in a special worship service to God. He taught them God’s promises to His true servants, which are written the Bible, encouraging them to ask the Lord God, through prayer, all their needs for He has promised that He will surely listen to all their pleadings.

“Many brethren have gone through a lot of difficulties and trials. They are able to endure and continue because God’s love and mercy have been evident to His true servants,” said Brother Galang in an interview.

“God promises to grant blessings and salvation to His obedient servants. On my part, I will remain obedient to His commands because, first of all, I want to please Him,” said head deacon Francisco Namia.

On behalf of the brethren, resident minister Brother Miranda said, “We are so thankful having been remembered by the Church Administration. We deem this gathering a great blessing for our congregation. Truly, our Lord God is very good to us.”

Family Fun Day

The last of the activities was the Family Fun Day on June 22 held at San Lorenzo Clubhouse in Balibago, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

After the opening remarks by Brother Miranda, brethren watched a video presentation featuring the congregation’s past and recent successful activities. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed various games, delectable dinner, and picture taking. Winners of the games were awarded. Also recognized were those in the process of joining the Church. Concluding the event, ministerial worker Brother Kevin Malaluan led the congregation in a prayer.

“Activities like these allow the brethren to spend more quality time with their respective families which are among the things that bring glory to the Lord God,” said deaconess Ellen Escueta. — With assistance from Jensen DG. Mañebog and Kelvin Anzano of INC News Section
