The blood donation drive spearheaded on March 7, 2026 by the leadership of the Ecclesiastical District of Masbate collected a hundred bags.
“This is a manifestation of love for our fellowmen, based on the commandment of God to ‘love your neighbor as yourself’,” Masbate District supervising minister Brother Renato C. Estrada Sr. said regarding the activity’s significance. “There are various ways to show compassion, one of which is donating blood because it provides survival of those in need of it.”
The collected bags of blood were handed to the Red Cross of the Philippines’ branch in the region to augment its supply ready for donation to those who are in need.
The humanitarian activity, which was conducted at the Masbate Social Center in Masbate City, Masbate, involved personnel of the Red Cross and members of Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) who facilitated the screening and blood extraction, ensuring the safety of the brethren-volunteers as well as the eventual beneficiaries.
“[This] blood [donation] drive is essential to close the gap in our local supply,” explained CMDPS member John Ralph Ayohan, a doctor by profession and enlisted with the EGM Congregation. “This ensures we, medical personnel, won’t be caught off guard like during disasters, allowing us to provide immediate, life-saving support to those in critical need of a transfusion.”
“I’m committed to this call from the Church Administration about blood donation,” said Buklod member Josephine Reglos from the Masbate City Local Congregation. “For me, it’s all about looking out for one another and doing my part to support [those] who rely on these life-saving donations.”— With assistance from Raenier Moral
