“It’s our way of celebrating the Church’s anniversary: sharing the faith to people in our neighborhood,” said deacon Bernard Llamosa.
On July 27, 2025, brethren from the Local Congregation of Hobart, Devonport Group Worship Service (GWS) and Launceston GWS, all under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Victoria, Australia, conducted a Pasugo Drive, followed by evangelical missions some days later.
Pasugo Drive
Led by their resident minister Brother John Bryner Case, the Church members handed out copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazine to people in their respective neighborhoods, and at some establishments, such as shopping malls, restaurants, and other complexes.
Asked about the activity’s significance to the Church’s anniversary, Brother Case explained, “Pasugo magazine distribution is one of the effective methods the members use to further introduce the Church to nonmembers, especially those searching for the truth, as the magazine contains the unadulterated teachings written in the Bible regarding salvation.”
“It feels fulfilling being able to spread the gospel to people in our community who haven’t heard the words of God,” enthused 75-year-old Jeffrey Tom James Connolly.
Evangelical mission
The evangelical mission was held at Hobart Congregation’s place of worship located at Glenorchy Library Hall, 4 Terry Street, Glenorchy, Tasmania, Australia on August 1, 2025. Brethren from Devonport GWS and Launceston GWS also joined from their respective remote sites. Officiating minister Brother Case taught God’s words emphasizing the importance of joining the Church Of Christ. Being Christ’s sole body, and Christ Himself as its head, it is the only true Church nowadays that the Bible teaches. Its members are the ones whom Christ redeemed with His blood and thus will be saved on Judgment Day.
Hobart Congregation’s choir leader Crizelle Medina was able to bring along her co-worker. In an interview, she shared that she allots time to invite her colleagues as “it’s important to share my faith. After all, God called me into the true Church to do so, to further spread the truth by reaching out to more people for them to know about the Church Of Christ,” she said.
Smithton
Eight days later, on August 9, Brother Case went with his family and some Church officers to lead an evangelical mission at Smithton. Brethren there were able to bring along guests, many of whom they invited during the Pasugo Drive days prior. Brother Case preached God’s words at Boado Residence.
Smithton, a town located at the far northwest coast of Tasmania, is a six-hour-drive from Hobart. Launceston GWS and Devonport GWS, on the other hand, are approximately two-and-a-half-hour and three-hour-drive, respectively, from Tasmania’s capital. — With reports from Emmylou Sanchez and Brendan Thompson of INC News Section
