On November 5, 2025, Buenavista Group Worship Service (GWS), which is under the care of the Abuyog Congregation, held its inaugural worship service. The place of worship of the new GWS is located at Barangay Buenavista, Abuyog, Leyte. Prior to its establishment, brethren from Buenavista had to cross the Cadac-an River to get to the Abuyog chapel.

“Praises be to the Lord God for allowing us to conduct this gathering,” said resident ministerial worker Brother Franklin Mesias of Abuyog Congregation.

Tacloban City, Leyte District supervising minister Brother Raul V. Ramirez Sr., led the momentous occasion. In his Scripture-based homily, he reminded the brethren of God’s will to take care of the place of worship. Also, it is where God’s glory dwells, that is, where He expects them to worship Him and He promised to listen there to the prayers of His faithful servants.

Placing full trust in the Lord is a must now more than ever, Brother Ramirez also highlighted, as Judgment Day is drawing near and life has become more challenging because of the many calamities and trials people face in the world. Be that as it may, they must remain steadfast in the faith and continue doing what pleases God if they want to be blessed by Him, especially salvation on Judgment Day.

“I thank the Lord God for outpouring spiritual blessings we so need, through our inaugural worship service,” said deaconess Dina Colon.

Having the place of worship nearer to his house, organist Mike Joshua Pelesco shared his zeal, “I will continue fulfilling my sacred duty in the Church.” — With reports from Joey Malawit Jr.
