“Aside from showing athletic abilities in playing sports, the primary aim of the INC Unity Games is to fortify the bond and unity of the members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ),” shared district supervising minister Brother Nepthalie Panes. “Also, this is a great opportunity for the Christian families to have quality time together,” he added.
The Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan North, in the Philippines, held the district finals of the INC Unity Games at San Miguel Municipal Gymnasium, Brgy. Poblacion, San Miguel, Bulacan, on December 28, 2025.
Two teams from Buklod, KADIWA, and Binhi clashed in both the men’s and women’s category. The said teams consist of players from various local congregations constituting the district’s five areas: those from the areas of San Ildefonso, Palapala, and Doña R. Trinidad (DRT) as the first team, those of the San Miguel and Bulualto areas as the other team.
The sports activity formally opened with a parade of colors representing each area: purple (Bulualto), green (San Miguel), pink (San Ildefonso), and brown (Palapala and DRT). Then, assistant district supervising minister Brother Emmanuel Ramoran led a prayer, followed by Buklod district officer Jay-Ar Ramos leading the players’ taking oath of sportsmanship. Lastly, before the actual games, district CFO officers guided them in warm-up exercises.
Participants showed their agility and coordination while playing ballgames, earning the crowd’s cheers. But notable of all, even as the games got intense, sportsmanship prevailed among the players.
After the games, the winners of the sports activity in each category were declared. The San Ildefonso–Palapala–DRT team took the victories for the categories of Buklod, KADIWA, and Binhi volleyball, both men and women, and Buklod basketball, while the San Miguel–Bulualto team won for the KADIWA and Binhi basketball categories. Brother Panes, Brother Ramoran, and district CFO overseer Brother Efren Bag-Oyen awarded the trophies and medals to the winners.
“I’m very glad that we won and gained many friends because of this activity. Above these, I became closer to our Almighty God,” enthused basketball player Jared Venturina, choir member from Sibul Congregation, who belongs to the San Miguel–Bulualto Binhi team. — With assistance from Irene Bernardo
