Eager to be of help to their fellowmen in any good way they can, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the 26 local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan West, in the Philippines, held a clean-up drive on May 24, 2024.

The brethren cleaned an estimated 18-km stretch of MacArthur highway: Tuktukan, Guiguinto to Malolos Arch, Malolos Arch to Vista Mall in Longos, Malolos, and Vista Mall to Jed’s Island Resort in Gatbuca, Calumpit.

“I want to fulfill the Lord God’s command to help my fellowmen through this clean-up drive,” Edmarck Silva, Light Of Salvation (LOS) officer from the Malis Local Congregation, shared.

“I’m helping the community, meeting brethren from other local congregations, and this is also for the strengthening of our bond of brotherhood,” said Roy Eldon Reece, deacon from the Local Congregation of Tabe.

Cleaning the environment even served as a way for “family members [to] strengthen the bond among them,” attested Brother Felix Realizan, district Light Of Salvation (LOS) overseer.

“In this activity, I’m with my children. We’re happy to unite with the Church Administration,” said Abigail Delos Reyes, finance officer from the Bulusan Local Congregation. “Participating in clean-up drives helps mold them to become responsible citizens,” she added.

“This advocacy is beautiful and I’m happy to see the clean surroundings,” said Jimmy Alondar, a vendor in Malolos, upon seeing the brethren’s efforts. — With reports from Ardie Dionisio of INC News Section
