The Church Administration recently granted the Cairo, Egypt Group Worship Service (GWS) a full-fledged local congregation status. Its Thanksgiving worship service for the 111th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) on July 25, 2025 was doubly momentous as it was also their inaugural worship service as a local congregation.
Northern Africa District supervising minister Brother Dernilo Pascua officiated at the holy gathering.
“Church members here face a lot that might weaken their resolve but God never abandons them. Amid trying times, they are guided by the Church Administration to never cease in obeying God’s will,” attested resident ministerial worker Brother Neftalie Tiangsing. On behalf of the brethren, he added, “We promise to serve God no matter what, for us to ascertain salvation.”
In his sermon, Brother Pascua reminded the brethren that they have so many reasons to be thankful to the Lord God. Even though hardships abound, the Lord God fulfills His promises to them, being His chosen ones. As a proof, not only the Church but the members as well continue reaping victory after victory in all their holy endeavors.
He also exhorted the faithful in attendance to always trust what the Lord God promised to His Messenger in the last days as written in the Book of Isaiah. Obedient members in the Church can always hope that the Almighty God will strengthen, help, and uphold them come what may in their lives.
After the sermon, the officiating minister led the oath-taking of additional Church officers in the local congregation. — With assistance from Ziam Condor
