The Local Congregation of Calumpang Lejos, Ecclesiastical District of Cavite South in the Philippines recently commemorated its 89th anniversary. The highlight of the anniversary celebration of the congregation was the special worship service held on March 24, 2024. The Church Administration sent Brother Antonio T. de Guzman Jr., minister of the gospel, to officiate at the holy gathering.

In his homily, Brother de Guzman emphasized to the Church members of Calumpang Lejos Congregation what God expects from those whom He has called into the Church Of Christ—that they would never betray Him, but instead live a life that is free from sin.

“Even if life gets tough, we must never stop nor tire of serving and obeying God. As for me and my family, what serves as our inspiration is the Holy City which God reserves for us, where all our troubles and sadness will be no more,” said Rogel Gallardo, head deacon of Calumpang Lejos and son of pioneer brethren of the congregation.

The congregation’s head deacon further conveyed, “I promise God, as well as the Church Administration, that I will remain active in performing my duties, moved by love and concern for the Church. Just as this was taught to me by my parents, I will likewise impart this to my children and even grandchildren, so all of us will be able to hold on to our sacred election.”

A day after the worship service, the congregation held a socializing activity at the Sadati Forest Restaurant in Indang, Cavite. Among those present were the doctrinal instructees and prospective members.

“As our local congregation is now 89 years old, it is our hope that unity as brothers and sisters in the Church will remain firm as we evermore strive to serve God in the many more years to come,” said Brother Jasmir Mejia, resident ministerial worker, on behalf of the congregation.
