“We all enjoyed the bookmobile. Thank you for teaching us to be nice children,” said six-year-old Chrin Iavin Ramos.
The Sanchez Mira house of worship compound was the recent destination of the CFO Bookmobile on February 21, 2026 for the youth members in the Cagayan West Ecclesiastical District. It is about 630 kilometers away from the Iglesia Ni Cristo Central Office in Quezon City, Philippines.
As of this writing, this tour has been the farthest among the more than 20 travels last year. More children in other districts will benefit from the project as 20 trips are scheduled later this year.
Aimed at promoting the love of reading and the infusion of Christian values, the bookmobile is a collaborative initiative of the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Office of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) and the New Era University Library Department.
Led by district CFO overseer Brother Charles Ton Nilo, more than 400 children members from various local congregations of the district gathered for this activity. Aileen Joy Barrera, Alma Ramirez, Sharmagne Tunac, Clarisse Luzarata, Angelica Pablo, Aian Jay Vicente, and Vic Christopher Quimoyog, CWS teachers all, volunteered as storytellers.
Through storytelling and Art Activity Booth presented in the bookmobile and the tents mounted in the venue, the children learned Christian values and various knowledge while enjoying the company of one another.
“Thank you for the bookmobile. I enjoyed it. Thank you Brother Eduardo Manalo for your love for us. We love you as well,” said five-year-old Elijah Grace Fodulla.
Following its launch in May 2024, the program initially served children in the Iglesia Ni Cristo housing communities in Quezon City by directly bringing to them accessible reading materials and educational resources. The initiative later expanded through the participation of the INC Children’s Museum, which introduced arts, crafts, and coloring activities to further enrich the learning experience and encourage creativity among children. – With research assistance from Smith Sangalang
