The Dawson Creek Group Worship Service was recently elevated to local congregation status. On May 11, 2025, the inaugural worship service was held at the Senior Citizens Hall, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada, with district supervising minister Brother Rolando Gaviola officiating. Succeeding worship services will also be held at the said venue.
In his Bible-based homily, Brother Gaviola emphasized to the brethren the importance of God’s commissioning of His messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo (1886-1963), to lead people into the true Church Of Christ. “By having firm faith in his election, the brethren become even more inspired to likewise uphold their divine election. Doing so is important for them to endure trials until the end and be worthy to receive God’s promise of salvation,” he said.
After the teaching of God’s words, district Church officers overseer Brother Leyden Gamboa led the oath-taking of the congregation’s pioneering set of officers.
“I will lead the brethren in actively worshiping God. Through visitations, I will always encourage them to ask God of His protection and guidance by means of prayer,” said newly appointed head deacon Feliciano Nanud.
“I value so much our worship services to God,” shared choir member Jacquiline Agpad who felt fortunate being one of the pioneers. As a student, she sometimes finds it “hard to balance both studies and fulfilling Church duties. Be that as it may,” she said, “I trust in God to give me strength so that I can continue giving glory to Him.”
Just like Agpad, technical support for video streaming (TSV) officer Genesis Baroy said that she “feels so blessed” having anticipated for their GWS to finally become a local congregation. “I will invite many people in this town to listen to God’s words so that they can know about and thereby join the Church Of Christ,” she added.
Dawson Creek GWS was under the supervision of the Local Congregation of Grande Prairie. Brother David Ryan Cudia is currently the congregation’s resident ministerial worker. — With assistance from Romel Cruz
