Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, Deputy Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), officiated at the special worship service of SCAN members and officers, which was held at house of worship of the Local Congregation of Ciudad de Victoria, Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan South on February 15, 2026.
This was the highlight of the commemoration of 37th anniversary of the Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN).
Besides this, the SCAN chapters from various ecclesiastical districts held the “SCAN Grand Eyeball” (SGE) at Philippine Arena, Ciudad de Victoria Complex, Bocaue, Bulacan from February 13 to 16.
The delegates from the Philippines included those from the provinces of Albay, Batangas, Cagayan, Cavite, Iloilo, Pampanga, Samar, and Tarlac, as well as from Metro Manila. Others came from districts in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the United States of America, specifically California.
On Day 1, they had a meet-and-greet facilitated by the Iglesia Ni Cristo Production Company (INCPC), and which featured renditions of INC original music. The second day focused on disaster-response training, and on the final day featured workshops on amateur radio engineering concepts, among others. The aforementioned special worship service took place on the third day.
SCAN Chairman Brother Gabby Malonzo noted, “Members gained knowledge from professional and certified guest speakers. Their participation in endurance challenges also showed strength and agility, skills they can use in fulfilling their duties.”
Eduardo Caluguas from Victoria, Australia District said, “Meeting the brethren from different districts was truly a memorable experience.”
Wally Villanueva Jr. from General Santos City, South Cotabato District added, “Seeing the Philippine Arena for the first time was overwhelming.”
SCAN president Noel Viray Jr. from Pampanga West District also shared, “During the worship service, we were reminded to fulfill our Church duties no matter what, to attain salvation.”
New Zealand South
SCAN members in New Zealand South District held their version of the SGE on February 15 on two separate venues. These were the Bromley Community Centre (BCC) for those from the city of Christchurch, and the ILT Stadium Southland in Surrey Park Road, Glengarry for those from the city of Invercargill.
They enjoyed activities designed to foster teamwork and camaraderie, including Tug-of-War, 3-Point Basketball Shootout, Videoke Challenge, and Volleyball. Amado Piñon from Timaru Group Worship Service said of the SGE: “It renewed my zeal to continue serving God with integrity.”
New Zealand North
The SCAN in the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand North held their SGE at the PIA Event Centre, 55 Ward Street, Pukekohe, New Zealand on February 22.
“Activities like this sharpen the officers’ preparedness while fostering unity and perseverance, qualities essential to fortify faith in God,” said district supervising minister Brother Dennis Dahunan in his opening remarks.
“We had seminar on basic radio communication,” shared district SCAN president Paul Pagulayan. “It has equipped us additional valuable knowledge.”
Taiwan South
SCAN members from the Ecclesiastical District of Taiwan South held their SGE at Jiading Coastal Park on February 20. District SCAN president Arnel Bernabila and fellow officer Mark Anthony Jadoc led them in an amateur radio seminar, followed by mini endurance activities.
Naga City, Camarines Sur
SCAN members from the Ecclesiastical District of Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines, gathered for their SGE at the Pacol Sports Complex, Naga City on February 27. Beverly de Alday from Busak Congregation said, “I’m happy to join this activity. It made me value my duty even more.”
Feb 28 SGE
Many districts held their SGE events on February 28, such as Calamian, Isabela West, Quezon, and Capas, Tarlac—all in the Philippines—as well as Northeast California, and Taiwan.
Showcasing at respective venues a series of interactive games and seminars, “this activity has brought inspiration and togetherness,” said Bernardo Rios from Fairfield Congregation, Northeast California District.
“Many brethren and their families attended, enjoying the chance to bond together,” said district SCAN secretary Janet Ortiguero from Hukou Congregation, Taiwan District.
Respective district supervising ministers and district Christian Family Organizations overseers were not remiss in gracing these events with their presence.
