In the heart of a busy district in the city of Manila, Philippines, within the world’s oldest Chinatown, stands the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) house of worship of the Local Congregation of San Nicolas, Ecclesiastical District of Manila. The brethren in San Nicolas were blessed with a newly-constructed and beautiful house of worship. Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, officiated at the dedication worship service.

The opening prayer was led by Brother Wilson R. Cayago, Manila Ecclesiastical District supervising minister, followed by the reading of the chapel’s history by Brother Bienvenido C. Santiago. The prayer for the house of worship dedication was led by Brother Rene J. Panoncillo together with select ministers from the district. After the Executive Minister’s homily, the closing prayer was led by Brother Romer D. Galang. Brother Arnel A. Tumanan led the prayer for the voluntary offerings and Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo said the benediction.

Citing the Scriptures, Brother Eduardo Manalo highlighted that living in this world is not easy, especially in these times. Trials and tribulations have become extraordinarily difficult and much more immense compared with what people had to deal with in the past. Despite all these, true Christians remain solid in the faith for they are always inspired by God’s words, and they continue to experience His love and care.

Solid faith is not just about believing in God during the good times but holding on to the true faith even when times are tough. It is about trusting in God’s grace and strength even when the odds seem impossible.

Through the Bible, Brother Eduardo Manalo also emphasized the relevance of the house of worship to nurture the brethren’s faith. The Bible teaches that in the house of worship, God all the more listens to and answers the prayers of His people. Prayerful servants of God never allow their faith to become stagnant or weak.

God’s blessing of a new house of worship in San Nicolas has become a source of inspiration and strength to the brethren. For many Church members, this new house of worship is not just a holy edifice, but a symbol of their faith, further motivating them to finish the race that God has set before them.
