The Ecclesiastical District of Cotabato North in the Philippines hosted the “KADIWA Coffee Exhibit” at Felipe Suerte Memorial Elementary School in Kidapawan City, Cotabato, on March 14, 2026.
The activity was participated in by single members aged 18 and up who hailed from the local congregations of Balabag, Binay, Buayan, Canaan, Capitol, Kabacan, Kalasuyan, Kidapawan, Magkaalam, Magpet, Makilala, Manongol, Paco, Pres Roxas, Sumba, and Tulunan.
It was aimed at “fostering camaraderie and strengthening bond among the youth, while providing them with knowledge about the history of coffee, as well as coffee brewing and mixing,” explained district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother Ivan Felix Busmeon. “It also seeks to inspire ideas for potential livelihood opportunities among them.”
For this purpose, the event featured three mounted booths—the Informative Station, the Demonstration Station, and the Do-It-Yourself Station.
The Informative Station provided participants with essential knowledge about coffee, including its origin, types of beans, and proper preparation techniques.
At the Demonstration Station, a skilled coffee maker, Richard Relativo Jr. from the Local Congregation of Icdang Village, demonstrated the step-by-step process of coffee-making, allowing participants to observe proper techniques and methods.
Meanwhile, the Do-It-Yourself Station gave participants the opportunity to apply what they had learned by making coffee themselves, fostering hands-on experience and boosting their confidence in the craft.
“The Coffee Exhibit greatly benefited the KADIWA members as they were provided additional knowledge and skills,” said Ronald Tomboc from the Local Congregation of Kabacan. “Also, it helped us youth develop discipline, creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence as they interact with each other.”
