Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members, many of whom are with their respective families, in Antipolo Congregation, Rizal Ecclesiastical District gathered at the Ynares Sports Complex in Antipolo City, Rizal on January 17, 2026 for a fun run.
True to its name, “this activity aims to enhance camaraderie among brethren while strengthening their bond and with family members and, collectively, helping them take care of their physical health,” explained local Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer Brother Jun Bautista. “Through the active participation of brethren in activities such as this, God is glorified and pleased.”
“The brethren were excited upon learning about the event. They arrived early at the venue, with others deeming it as yet another opportunity to bond with their families,” local KADIWA president Jomari Pelagio stated.
Led by resident minister Brother Nestor Sanvictores, 400 runners took part in the said event which was divided into four categories—1km, 2km, 3km and 4km.
The first 10 runners who reached the finish line for each category received medals and other prizes.
“Unlike in other sports events wherein I focused on winning, here I just enjoyed running with other brethren until we reached the finish line,” expressed 4km first placer Alvin Grabillo. “The happiness that I felt with my fellow brethren was way more than the prizes I’ve received.”
In another interview, 4km-runner Ginalyn Placido shared, “For me, this activity was a meaningful opportunity to bond with my family, take good care of our health, and maintain our unity with the Church Administration.”
