MANY PEOPLE usually turn to their loved ones and friends for solace and relief when life’s extreme hardships become unbearable. Yet, members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) are taught to place their full trust in God, above all, for He alone can provide true strength to overcome adversity.
On August 23, 2025, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister of the Church Of Christ, officiated a worship service at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Pulo, Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East. Before the Executive Minister’s Bible-based sermon, Brother Gerino S. Lalata, district supervising minister, led the opening prayer. During the study of God’s words, the brethren were reminded that facing trials and difficulties are opportunities to prove their faith, trust, obedience, and hope in the Almighty God.
As the Executive Minister constantly reminds the brethren about God’s great love and compassion, Church members must never think that the trials they face are beyond what they can endure. Such experiences are permitted by the Lord God for a good and just purpose. Thus, instead of losing hope, true Christians are encouraged to face hardships with this positive outlook.
In times of trials, Church Of Christ members must be unwavering in their membership in the Church. They need to be resolute in proving that they are truly God’s chosen servants. By doing so, they can be certain that God will turn even the most severe trials into blessings for those who fully trust in Him.
Brother Romer D. Galang led the closing prayer and Brother Glicerio P. Santos IV led the prayer for the voluntary offerings. The benediction was said by Brother Eraño S. Codera.
The brethren’s testimonies only demonstrate that trials are instruments of God in refining the faith of His chosen ones and in revealing His mercy to them. As they reflect on these affirmations, the message is clear: Church members ought not to yield to despair. Instead, they ought to keep on serving God, praying to Him, and trusting His good plans for them.
