It has been 50 years since the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) established its first local congregation in Hong Kong. At present, there are 14 congregations there. Thankful to God, Church members there commemorated such a milestone through a special worship service that was held at AsiaWorld-Expo, a convention and exhibition facility, on May 5, 2024.

Brother Eraño Codera from the Iglesia Ni Cristo Central Office was sent by the Church Administration to lead the said gathering. In his biblical preaching, he reminded the brethren of God’s promises to His chosen ones, such as they can expect that He will answer to their prayers by virtue of the divine election they received as members of the true Church Of Christ.

More than 4,000 members of the Church, including those in neighboring Macau, attended the special gathering.

“I feel blessed and happy to be here today for it’s a big event to be with my fellow brethren and together listen to our Lord God’s teachings prepared by the Church Administration. Once again, I received additional strength amid all turmoils in this world,” Margaret Ip, organist from the Local Congregation of New Territories, expressed.

“We thank our Lord God and our beloved Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for remembering us by sending a minister to lead us in the special worship service because nowadays poverty continues to worsen together with violence and chaos,” said Brother Noer Misa, supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Hong Kong. “The brethren need the inspiration from gatherings like this to uphold their services to our Lord God and continue to do what pleases the Almighty Father.”

In December 2018, the Hong Kong Ecclesiastical District was established.  — With reports from Arlynn Bartolome of INC News Section
