Brethren in the Local Congregation of Binduyan in Palawan Ecclesiastical District gathered for the inaugural worship service of their newly renovated house of worship on July 12, 2025.

“A typhoon which hit the province last year severely damaged parts of the house of worship,” shared head deacon Iranio Gaco. “This made us feel sad. However, this turned into gladness when we learned that the Church Administration immediately decided not only to repair the damages, but to renovate the house of worship.”

Among the major changes done to the house of worship were increasing the edifice’s seating capacity, repainting the pulpit area and choir loft, and replacing the roof, ceiling, and name card (tarheta) board. Also, new chairs for the pulpit area were placed.

During the sacred gathering, district supervising minister Brother Esmeraldo Sibuma reiterated from the Bible that the house of worship is significant to the spiritual well-being of God’s people. It is there where they learn and are constantly reminded of His commandments which edify their faith. For this reason, Brother Sibuma exhorted the brethren that as God’s people, it is only right that they do their best in taking care of such holy edifices.

Choir leader Anthony Cabuena mentioned that “having a newly refurbished house of worship is truly a great blessing.” Meanwhile, resident ministerial worker Brother Jhon Erick Vega shared that “the brethren understand the importance of their house of worship. It is here where they can worship the Almighty God, and where they continue to gain strength and inspiration through His words that they receive during the worship services.”

On behalf of the brethren, Brother Sibuma expressed his gratitude to the Almighty God “for He utilized the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, to approve the renovation of the house of worship. It is our promise that we will continue to love and take care of this sacred edifice.”

During the renovation, brethren temporarily held worship services in a makeshift place of worship erected on a lot owned by deacon Noel De Jesus, which is situated adjacent to the congregation’s compound. — With reports from Jonalyn Jiongco of INC News Section
