The Local Congregation of Kansas City, Kansas in the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Plains established a group worship service (GWS) at Sedalia, Missouri. Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the area felt immense joy as they attended its inaugural worship service held at Warrensburg Community Center multipurpose hall located at 445 E. Gay Street, Warrensburg, Missouri on July 12, 2025.
District supervising minister Brother Elmer Parungao officiated the momentous event. “We are so happy with the establishment of Sedalia, Missouri GWS, for this will all the more inspire the brethren in this area in continuously serving God,” he said in an interview.
After the study of God’s words, district Light of Salvation overseer Brother Franklin Lago Jr. led the oath-taking of pioneering officers in the GWS. It was followed by a prayer by district Church officers overseer Brother Junie Alarin.
Local secretary Mariela Hoang reflected, “I’ve been striving to fulfill my duties since then when we had to travel far to reach our place of worship in Kansas City. Now that there’s a GWS nearby, I’ll perform my duties well even more.”
“It’s indeed an answered prayer from God that the Church Administration approved the establishment of this GWS,” shared finance officer Loida Smiley whose residence at 707 McFee Street, Knob Noster would serve as the GWS’s place of worship for the succeeding worship services.
“The establishment of Sedalia GWS manifests God’s concern not only to the Church’s entirety but also to His people in this place as He allows us to reap victories such as this,” said district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer and Kansas City Congregation resident minister Brother Edison Solomon. He expressed on behalf of the Church members in Sedalia, “We thank so much Brother Eduardo V. Manalo for we continue to feel God’s love through his leadership.” — With reports from Seth Domine
