Under the INC Giving project of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), various activities have been launched by ecclesiastical districts all over the world. These endeavors include clean-up drives that benefit even the communities where the brethren live. In the Philippines, local congregations in the ecclesiastical districts of Aurora, in Luzon, and in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, Mindanao, opted to clean public school grounds this March 2024.

Aurora
Recent clean-up drives in the province of Aurora were called Linis Eskuwela, with the aim to make the school environment more conducive to learning and promote good health among students.

As of this writing, 25 schools have benefited, such as those situated in the villages of Baubo, Bayabas, Bianuan, Borlongan, Calangcuasan, Diaat, Dimaseset, Dinadiawan, Detailen, Diteki, Kadayacan, Maligaya, Mapalad, Mijares, Quirino, Sabang, and Sto. Tomas. Iglesia Ni Cristo members from local congregations of the villages’ namesake volunteered for the said clean-up activity.

Brethren-volunteers cleaned the school grounds, ridding it of wild grasses, debris, and litter. Among the schools kept clean on March 9 was the Maria Aurora Central School located in Barangay 3, Maria Aurora, Aurora.

After the cleanup, the brethren even donated cleaning materials to the school. “On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff in our school, we wholeheartedly thank the Iglesia Ni Cristo through its INC Giving project for this clean-up initiative,” Mary Grace Banan, Principal III of the said school, expressed.

“By doing this activity we follow the Lord God’s will of doing good to others, one of which is maintaining cleanliness in the community,” explained Brother Rafael Ruiz Jr., resident ministerial worker in the Local Congregation of Maria Aurora.

Zamboanga del Sur
In Pagadian City, brethren from four local congregations in the district of the city’s namesake likewise flourished in conducting clean-up drives in school grounds, among other places.

First of these clean-up activities was that conducted by brethren from the Local Congregation of Mahayag at the village of Poblacion, Mahayag, on March 9. It was followed by that of the Local Congregation of Dinas, which was held at the streets adjacent to its house of worship on March 11.

On their part, the Local Congregation of Limonan cleaned the grounds of Limonan Central Elementary School, while those in the Local Congregation of Molave at Blancia Elementary School, both held on March 16.

“My household and I will continue uniting with Church activities like this,” said Danilo Villarmia, a head deacon in the Local Congregation of Mahayag.

Iglesia Ni Cristo members around the world, including those in the district of Aurora and Pagadian City, promise to continue to actively participate in Church activities under the INC Giving project inspired by the command of God to be helpful to those around them. — With reports from Richelle Fernandez and Romy Coveta of INC News Section
