“Thank you for inviting me here. I truly appreciate your service to the community. The care packages that you gave today serve as an example that the people of Lubbock will be cared for. Thank you very much for what you’re doing in our community,” said Lubbock, Texas Mayor Mark McBrayer, as he commended the Care for Humanity event that was held on May 11, 2025, at the house of worship compound of the Lubbock Congregation.
As part of the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s continuing efforts to bring aid to those in need throughout the region, similar outreach activities were held in other local congregations of the Ecclesiastical District of South Central States, on May 17 and 18, including Fort Worth, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
During the events, INC members handed out care packages to fellow residents of their respective communities. These contained food and grocery items.
“With the inflation affecting the economy today, this initiative by the INC has been a great help to us,” said Jackson Bailey, one of the beneficiaries through the Fort Worth, Texas Congregation.
“I thank the INC for helping us in our time of need. I hope they continue this humanitarian work so that more people can benefit from it. I am truly grateful for what the INC has done for our community,” expressed another recipient, Frank Quinn, who benefited via the Baton Rouge, Louisiana Congregation.
“The Church continues upholding this humanitarian effort as a fulfillment of God’s will to help those in need and to do good whenever possible,” remarked district supervising minister Brother Andrey Silva, who supervised these events. “Through this initiative, we also build bonds and foster camaraderie with our fellowmen, through which we hope they can learn more about the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ),” he added.
