“This is the best recognition that I’ve had and this is inspiring for us as this shows that the Church Administration recognizes our efforts and sacrifices in performing our duties,” said Danilo Eje who, together with his wife, Laudicia, have been performing their duties in Victoria Congregation, for more than 40 years now.

Extending the commendation from the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Ecclesiastical District of British Columbia handed out the certificates of recognition to long-time deacons and deaconesses during a district-wide meeting on July 21, 2025.

The house of worship of the Local Congregation of Surrey served as the main site. There, British Columbia District supervising minister Brother Glendo Baitan officiated the said event. Due to distance, others were gathered at the houses of worship of Victoria and Burnaby Congregations, which were connected via livestreaming.

In his Bible-based lecture, Brother Baitan reminded the Church officers that their Church duties, being God-given, are valuable. Thus, these must be safeguarded at all times, to ensure their salvation and that of their brethren as they remain looking after them. Afterwards, certificates of recognition, signed by the Executive Minister himself, were handed to deacons and deaconesses who have been performing their duties for so many years now.

“Our happiness to please God as we perform our duties is what keeps us going,” shared certificate recipient Diosdado and Freda Aquino of Burnaby Congregation. They added, “We hope that God continues blessing Brother Eduardo Manalo so that he may continue leading us, no matter how far we are from him in distance, as we serve God.”

District Church officers overseer Brother Emmanuel Allarey firmly believes that the Church Administration’s act of appreciating the long-time Church officers will “all the more inspire them to be devoted in continuously fulfilling their duties to God.” — With reports from Bryan Charles Belarmino
