Under the INC Giving project, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the local congregations of King William’s Town, and Dimbaza, in the Ecclesiastical District of Southern Africa, conducted together a Neighborhood Appreciation Day on February 18, 2024, at the compound of the Local Congregation of King William’s Town.

Church members warmly welcomed the guests to the activity, which commenced with a prayer led by Rogelio Rafols Sr., head deacon from King William’s Town Congregation. Afterwards, the guests were introduced to the Church Of Christ as they toured the house of worship compound.

At the end of the tour, guests were given copies of Pasugo: God’s Message magazines. Brethren and guests also enjoyed interacting with everyone as they afterwards visited game booths that the brethren prepared. Simultaneously, volunteer medical personnel held blood pressure and glucose level readings in a medical check-up clinic.

There were the choral presentations prepared by select brethren from the two local congregations. The song numbers featured original compositions of the choral groups themselves. The activity concluded with a prayer led by Brother Fervehn Carl de Mesa, resident ministerial worker of the Local Congregation of Dimbaza.

“I’m happy to be included in the activity. It’s nice to see many of the youth presenting their musical numbers. The Church’s good deeds truly have a great impact on the community,” said Zanda Ntshebe, one of the guests.

“I was able to feel the love of brotherhood and care among the Church members,” added Merilize Thompson, also a guest.

“Through this activity, we were able to introduce the Church Of Christ to the community by doing good works, especially in this part of the world wherein lots of people are having a hard time in life,” expressed Brother de Mesa. “This Neighborhood Appreciation Day was just the beginning of a series of activities for this year. We are planning to do different activities under the INC Giving project, so that we will have more opportunities to show our acts of kindness to our fellowmen.”
