Local congregation chroniclers from the Ecclesiastical Districts of Central and Quezon City, in the Philippines, gathered for a seminar-workshop that was held at the multipurpose hall in the fifth floor of the New Era University School of Management, Central Ave, New Era, Quezon City on August 30, 2025.
A total of 112 participants attended—63 from Central and 49 in Quezon City—in this activity spearheaded by the INC Research and Information Section as part of its INC Chroniclers International Assembly 2025. “This seminar-workshop aimed at enhancing the skills of chroniclers in our district in organizing, updating, and preserving their congregation’s historical records,” shared Central District chronicler Brother Eranio Reyes Jr.
The program started with a prayer led by Quezon City District chronicler Brother Mateo Fajardo III, followed by a keynote address delivered by Central District assistant supervising minister Brother Reynaldo Arizala. In his message, he reminded and inspired the chroniclers about the value and sanctity of their duty in preserving the Church’s history.
Ministers and ministerial workers from the Research and Information Section, namely, Brothers Ricky James Tyler Bonus III, Deni Andrei Nicholas Florentino, and Reyniel Jean Morales, respectively discussed related topics, such as compiling historical records, chronicling Church activities, oral history simulation.
“Engaging in seminar-workshops like this enables one to gain expertise in documenting Church’s history,” said Brother Raymond Reyes, also of the said section, in his short lecture before the closing prayer. Considering the challenges in chronicling and the trials each of the chroniclers might have, he encouraged them to put their trust in God and seek His help by means of prayer.
“The knowledge I’ve received has been a big help in performing my duty,” said Green Condo Congregation chronicler Railey Christine Palabasan. “I’ll now be all the more able to properly chronicle our congregation’s history,” added BF Road Congregation chronicler Rovi Ezekhiel Lectana. — With assistance from Ron Talens
