The Ecclesiastical District of Marikina, in the Philippines, held the finals of its first INC Unity Games on November 22, 2025 at two venues, Central Recreation and Fitness Center (CRFC) and New Era University (NEU) covered court, both located at Brgy. New Era, Quezon City.

Before the start of the sporting activity, district supervising minister Brother Cyrus Jose Dizon gave his opening remarks. Then, talented brethren showcased musical performances featuring INC original songs such as Ganyan Tayo sa Loob ng Iglesia Ni Cristo (This Is How We Are In The Church Of Christ), Happy Victory, and Unity Games. Afterwards, the matches commenced.

Participants from Buklod, KADIWA, and Binhi organizations competed in board games (chess, checkers, darts, game of the generals, and scrabble), badminton, e-sports, volleyball, and basketball. Volleyball, e-sports, and badminton had both men’s and women’s categories, the latter of which also had singles and doubles categories. Volleyball was the only one held at NEU covered court, all others at CRFC.

Awarding of medals and trophies were held later that day, with Brother Dizon and assistant district supervising minister Brother Ariel Ernie congratulating the winners. The local congregations of Bayan-bayanan, Parang, and Sampaguita Village each took home five wins, followed by SSS Village (4), Concepcion and San Mateo (3).

“This is my first time joining this kind of competition. Participating in this activity is very overwhelming and a wonderful experience,” said Concepcion Congregation volleyball player and newly baptized member Arabela Coso.

“I truly feel the love and concern of the Church Administration for us. They launched this kind of activity not only for us to be physically healthy but also to foster sportsmanship and unity among brethren,” said SSS Village Congregation deacon and volleyball player Victor Rabino.

Established on August 7, 2024, Marikina is the ninth among ecclesiastical districts of the Church in the country’s National Capital Region. It celebrated its first anniversary recently, in August 2025. On the 25th of that month, the opening ceremony of the district’s first ever INC Unity Games was conducted. Elimination games were held from October to November at selected covered courts and board game places in Marikina and Rizal. — With reports from Marikina District Multimedia
