In commemoration of the 107th anniversary of the Children’s Worship Service (CWS), its officers and members from the Mediterranean District attended a special gathering on May 25, 2025.

Assistant district supervising minister Brother Edmundo Tapang officiated the sacred occasion at the place of worship of the Local Congregation of Athens, Greece, which also served as the host site, as other congregations connected via livestreaming.

In his preaching of God’s words, Brother Tapang emphasized the importance of worshiping God from one’s youth. He also reminded the CWS officers the importance of upholding their duties—taking care of the young brethren and help in molding them to become steadfast members of the Church.

Aside from commemorating the CWS’s anniversary, the special gathering became “all the more significant for the CWS teachers and officers as it also served as an opportunity to strengthen them in the faith,” Brother Tapang added.

“It’s important to be a good role model to the CWS members,” said CWS teacher Eleni Mendoza from Athens, Greece Congregation. “By being a good example to them, especially by always attending worship services, they will likewise uphold the worship of God from their young age,” she explained.

Meanwhile, a health watch activity followed later that day particularly for the brethren in Athens, Greece Congregation, also in Mediterranean District. Aimed at promoting physical wellness, the activity availed them of basic health screenings, such as blood pressure check, blood sugar testing, and weight measurement facilitated by their brethren in the medical field.

“This health watch is valuable, as it allows members to monitor their health so they can continue serving God with strength and vitality,” remarked Buklod secretary Geraldine Doe and one of the activity’s organizers.

“This activity is a great help in safeguarding my health, allowing also anyone to know if he has an illness to be addressed promptly and effectively,” said choir member Daisy Matugas. “With this, I could maintain my health remaining fit to fulfill my duties to God.” — With reports from Alyzon Keena Villanueva and Rowena Castro of INC News Section
