Led by the Iglesia Ni Cristo Research and Information Section, the INC Chroniclers International Assembly 2025 began with a series of seminar-workshops on August 9 to October 11, 2025 in various ecclesiastical districts in the Philippines. For INC chroniclers abroad, the seminar-workshops were conducted online beginning on August 18 to October 4.
Meanwhile, local congregation chroniclers in 27 ecclesiastical districts in the Philippines convened at their respective venues on September 13 and 20, some of which are featured as follows.
Palawan
For the delegates from Ecclesiastical Districts of Palawan North, Palawan South, and Palawan, the latter district hosted the assembly that was held at Astoria Palawan Hotel, Km. 62, North National Highway, Puerto Princesa City on September 13, 2025.
The program began with a prayer and opening remarks delivered by district supervising minister Brother Esmeraldo S. Sibuma. Then, Brother Eraño G. Quinitio, INC Research and Information Section chief, led in encouraging the local chroniclers to help preserve the Iglesia Ni Cristo’s history through their accurate documentation of Church activities and events, past and present.
“I’m grateful for this training. It helped me gain more skills in documenting our congregation’s history,” shared Puerto Princesa Local Congregation chronicler Dahlia Tito.
District chroniclers had their share of discussing topics, such as Palawan North District chronicler Brother Jonathan Mark Quilang, who shared new documentation standards and facilitated hands-on training and collaboration with chroniclers from other districts.
“I’m thankful for the many insights that will help me keep up the local congregation’s history,” said Quezon Congregation chronicler Checel Cortado.
Pangasinan
A week later, on September 20, chroniclers from the Ecclesiastical Districts of Alaminos City and Lingayen, Pangasinan held their assembly, with the former being the host district. Ministers of the gospel Brothers Dominador Aguada Jr., Rod Caberto, and Rafael Dacanay of the said section led the event at the Star Monica Hotel, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
During the seminar, pointers on how to properly organize each congregation’s history book were discussed, as well as related topics such as oral history, documentation techniques, and reliable sourcing. As supplement, workshops were held applying the said topics wherein attendees participated.
“I learned a lot today,” said Lingayen Congregation chronicler Nyla Somintac. “I’m so thankful for the Church Administration for this event that further helps me as I perform our duty in a manner that pleases the Lord God. With the insights I gained, I promise to continue serving Him no matter what.”
In an interview afterwards, Brother Aguada Jr. said, “With the guidance from the Church Administration, these seminars are aimed to level up the accuracy of our chroniclers in organizing the Church’s history. From this, we are able to fulfill what God declared in Isaiah 41:20 that all will know His marvelous works, as seen from the Church’s history, especially the truth that He is the one and only true God people ought to worship and serve.”
Makati
Also on September 20, 2025, a seminar was held for local congregation chroniclers in the Ecclesiastical District of Makati. It took place at the Pavilion Event Center, Bradco Avenue, Aseana City, Tambo, Parañaque City.
The event began with an opening prayer led by district chronicler Brother Karl Zedrick Yamballa, which was followed by the opening remarks from district supervising minister Brother Dominador F. Tapang Jr. “May you be diligent in performing your duty and be prudent to ensure the accuracy of the information you write or document,” he reminded the attendees.
Brother Raymond Reyes, a minister of the gospel and a staff member of the said section, led the sessions. He discussed how to create and improve local congregations’ histories, as well as how to properly chronicle every Church activity, among others.
“The seminar helped me understand the importance of accurate, organized, and well-documented local history. It inspired me to improve in carrying out my duty,” said Sunrise-La Paz Local Congregation chronicler Meryll Mae Villanueva Catubig.
Towards the end of the activity, Brother Reyes delivered a Bible-based lecture, emphasizing the spiritual importance of preserving the Church’s documented works. Interactive games were held between sessions, and delegates received souvenirs as tokens of appreciation for their presence. — With assistance from James Llegado, Deni Florentino, and Mau Vallo
