“I can’t quite explain the joy I felt when I received the true baptism. I know that I’m at peace. I’m saved in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ),” said newly-baptized member Cherry Sasa from the Local Congregation of Lawa.
Sasa, who left Catholic faith after finding the true Christian Church, was among the more than 140 baptized on February 21, 2026 in the Ecclesiastical District of Calamba City, Laguna for this month alone.
The baptismal gathering was officiated at by district supervising minister Brother Eraño D. Augusto at the house of worship of the Calamba City Local Congregation. In his preaching, he reminded the would-be members of the great blessings that they would receive upon being baptized. Becoming disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, they now belong to the chosen ones of the Lord God, the Father and thus have the sure hope of receiving salvation on Judgment Day.
Right after the homily, candidates for baptism took oath of membership, vowing to, among others, faithfully obey God no matter what. Then, they proceeded to the baptismal pool wherein they were immersed into the water by the designated ministers as the Bible prescribes.
“With the blessing I received, I’m inspired to continue inviting my loved ones to know about the true Church,” said Sasa.
“I truly believe that sharing our faith is God’s command. Through God’s help, I was able to help someone become a member of the true religion. I will not cease in sharing the true faith because it’s God’s command,” said Emi Maunahan, a Church officer in Lawa, who had first invited Sasa to evangelical missions and helped guide her in joining the Church Of Christ.
“Before this day, there were a lot of tests that I’ve gone through. I was persecuted by those close to me yet by God’s help, I was able to reach [the day of] my baptism. I will strive to fulfill my promise to dutifully worship and serve Him,” said newly-baptized member Shella Unico from the Southville Local Congregation.
Resounding the call of the Church Administration to intensify the works of propagation, district Light of Salvation overseer Brother Dennis Jardin, said, “God Himself expects the chosen to spread His truth and bring people into His fold. The faithful are expected to uphold this work which truly pleases the Lord God.” — With assistance from Jayson Balisi and Leonie Laguinday
