“Never forget God’s miracles,” Brother Arnel R. Canicosa, minister of the gospel and president of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) School For Ministers (SFM), highlighted in his Bible-based preaching during a special gathering in Tarlac, Philippines on November 22, 2025.

The attendees were gathered in the host site, the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Tarlac City, and a total of 193 remote sites, from all three districts in the province, connected via livestreaming. The said gathering was held in commemoration of the 100th year of the presence of the Church Of Christ in the province of Tarlac.

Tarlac City, Tarlac District supervising minister Brother Bhel John Ubaldo led the opening prayer. Sent by the Church Administration, Brother Canicosa then detailed in his preaching how God’s miracles evident to His nation back then likewise manifest in His nation in these last days. Though alone at the outset, Brother Felix Y. Manalo (1886-1963), the Sugo or God’s Messenger in these last days, was able to lead the brethren in their services to God. As a proof, the work of salvation reached Tarlac, among others.

Brother Canicosa reminded them to stand their ground in obeying God’s command even if they experience persecution, like what happened to the brethren then in Hacienda Luisita. He called upon the brethren to, “Uphold worship of God and intensive renewal of life, among His other commandments, until we receive His promise of salvation come Judgment Day.” Paniqui, Tarlac District supervising minister Brother Ronaldo Losloso led the prayer after the study of God’s words.

“We weren’t hindered back then. Until now, I’m not hindered to worship God despite my old age, illnesses, and being on this wheelchair. May the youth of today do that too—serve God come what may in our life,” 97-year-old Peter Villanueva from Tarlac City Congregation said. He and his family were among the brethren who experienced persecution in Hacienda Luisita.

Since reaching the province in 1925, the Church Of Christ now has three districts there: Tarlac City, Tarlac; Paniqui, Tarlac; and Capas, Tarlac. – With assistance from Bealyssa Bianca T. Basto
