GOD’S TEACHINGS have always been at the forefront of the spiritual journey of the members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), guiding them to complete the race set before them by God. His words enable His people in these last days to thrive and face life’s challenges. As the Second Advent of His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, draws near, more temptations will arise and hardships are bound to increase. Nonetheless, it remains the duty of the faithful to keep His words embedded in their hearts.
These were some of the biblical reminders taught by Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, as he emphasized the importance of safeguarding and upholding what truly matters—God’s words—during the worship service he officiated at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Meycauayan, Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan South in commemoration of the congregation’s 95th anniversary.
The Executive Minister’s biblical preaching serves as a reminder to the brethren of the steps they must take to ensure salvation and the determination needed to follow God’s words.
He also taught from the Bible that members of the Church should exemplify being true Christians both inside and outside the house of worship, a lesson that Sister Myrla Barribal, a choir member, reflected on as she shared, “Wherever we are, whatever we do, and for as long as we live, we must remain members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, worshiping and fulfilling our duties until the end.”
Brother Amado Caluag also attests to God’s everlasting love. In his 49 years as a Church officer, currently being the congregation’s head deacon, he has experienced not a shortage of trials. He looks back on the days when he had to walk four kilometers through chest-high flood to get to the house of worship to perform his duty as a head deacon. But his faith was strengthened by God as he braved the ordeal.
As the years passed by, technology and social media have advanced. Today, the dangers that Christians face extend into the realm of data and information, a network that is easily accessible with the tap of a finger. Constant reminders from the Church Administration about these dangers help guide the faithful in navigating social media while keeping God’s words in their hearts. Thus, the Executive Minister called on them, especially the youth, to remember His teachings and safeguard them.
During the sacred gathering, 37 ministerial workers were ordained as ministers of the gospel in the Church.
Before the Executive Minister’s homily, the opening prayer was led by Brother Eufracio B. Castillo Jr., the supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of Bulacan South. Brother Romer D. Galang led the closing prayer, while Brother Bienvenido C. Santiago led the oath-taking of the ordinands. Brother Arnel R. Canicosa led the prayer after the laying on of hands by the Executive Minister. The prayer for the voluntary offerings was led by Brother Ernesto V. Suratos. The benediction was said by Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo.
