The number of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members continues to grow in Northern Mindanao, Philippines, as prospective members in the Ecclesiastical Districts of Valencia City, Bukidnon, and Cagayan De Oro City, Misamis Oriental, among other districts, received baptism on July 25 and 26, 2025, respectively.
District supervising ministers of the said districts, Brother Ruel Zapata and Brother Alnorfo Jurada, respectively officiated at the baptismal gatherings that were hosted by the congregations of the cities’ namesake.
During the homily, the officiating ministers emphasized the importance of receiving baptism in the true Church. Through the Bible, they stressed that those who received such privilege became God’s true disciples. They are His chosen ones expected to imitate the firm faith that the Lord Jesus Christ uphold until the end. Doing so, they will be saved from the eternal damnation.
After the homily, would-be members took their oath of membership before being immersed in water for the baptism proper.
Newly baptized Clarence Sacasac from the Local Congregation of Bangcud, Valencia City, Bukidnon, said, “I’m very grateful to the Lord God for calling me into the Church. I’ve waited so eagerly for this day that I can hardly contain my happiness—especially now that I’ve become a member of the Church, a true servant of the Lord God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and whom the promise of salvation has been given.”
Another newly baptized member, Rhian Tagam from the Alae Congregation in Misamis Oriental, expressed, “I thank God for this great privilege that I’ve received from Him. I truly treasure this moment because it means I now have the hope of salvation on the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ. I promise to remain in my calling until the very end.” — With reports from Jazlene Jangayo and KC Poliran of INC News Section
