At the heart of South America’s biggest country, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) inaugurated a group worship service (GWS): Brasília. The new GWS is under the supervision of the Local Congregation of Rio de Janeiro, Ecclesiastical District of South America.

“Having this GWS is a blessing for us because the place of worship is much closer to us. It will be much easier for us to conduct our worship services and even our works of propagation,” said Kriz John Antiquera, who was assigned as GWS overseer of Brasília.

The inaugural worship service was held on February 25, 2024 and was officiated at by Brother Rene Manansala, district supervising minister.  In his homily, he reminded the congregants about the conviction true servants of God hold on to in the face of many troubles in life: they do not lose hope and they do not give up obedience to God.

“The increasing number of the Church’s congregations, including GWS, not only in Brazil, but even in other parts of the world, prove that God fulfills His promises to the Church, that He will never forsake us, but instead, grant us victories in all our holy endeavors,” said the district supervising minister.

The Brasília GWS now holds worship services at a rented hall of the Avenida Comercial in São Sebastião, Brasília, with Brother Joseph Yosoya as its resident minister. — With reports from Joshua Reyes of INC News Section
