On May 31, 2025, the new office building of the Ecclesiastical District of New York was inaugurated. The event was held after the brethren in the said district witnessed via livestreaming the oath-taking of Brother Angelo Eraño Manalo as Deputy Executive Minister, during the special worship service that the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, officiated at Navotas Congregation’s house of worship, in the Philippines. In attendance during the inauguration were brethren who attended the worship service in the Local Congregation of Bronx.
At the inauguration, assistant district supervising minister Brother Neil Patrick Omelda read the district’s history after which he unveiled the inaugural marker. It was followed by district supervising minister Brother Sheridohn Santos, together with his wife and family, leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the building tour.
The said building, situated within the house of worship compound of the aforementioned congregation, used to be a three-storey school formerly owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. That and a chapel and two parsonages, all located at 1343 Fulton Avenue, Bronx, were purchased by the Church through the New York District in June 2011. The chapel was then renovated to become Bronx, New York Congregation’s house of worship, which was dedicated to God by Brother Eduardo Manalo on December 31, 2011.
Church members, especially the officers in New York, were “so excited to learn that we’d be having this new district office,” attested Bronx Congregation head deacon Juanchito De Guzman. “That was why the brethren here in Bronx even dedicated their Saturdays to be of help [in the construction] of our district office.”
“This district office will serve as a beacon of hope to all the Church members here in New York, as officers can meet here to plan activities, those who seek counsel would know where to go to find us, and here we can deal with matters in our district that will further strengthen the faith of the brethren,” said Brother Santos on behalf of the district. — With reports from Kristofer Rae Ornedo
