To extend help to those who are in need in Uganda, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members in the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Africa collaborated with the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation in conducting Care for Humanity events at three separate locations in the said African country from June 2 to 4, 2025.
Nyeihanga, Rwampara
Nyeihanga village is located at Uganda’s western region, more than 300 kilometers away from Kampala, the country’s capital. The Care for Humanity event there was held at the place of worship compound of Nyeihanga, Uganda Extension on June 2.
The event’s beneficiaries first watched a video presentation featuring the Church’s socio-civic activities all over the world, especially in Africa, and that its reason is to fulfill God’s will.
Afterwards, assistant district supervising minister Brother Albert Alaan led the brethren in giving hundreds of care packages, each containing flour, sugar, and other essential items.
“Thank you so much,” said Farouk Munoga, chairman of the local council in Rwampara District, on behalf of all the recipients.
“I brought my neighbors, friends and their children. Everyone’s happy and excited. I’m very happy for the help you gave me. I thank Brother Eduardo Manalo for giving us hope,” shared recipient Doreen Natumanya.
Nsambya Gardens, Kampala
At Nsambya Gardens, a reception hall, a total of 1,000 care packages were handed over to recipients, some of whom live 15 to 30 kilometers from the venue, on June 3.
“We’re able to reach out to people, especially those who cannot afford their living. I was even among who benefited through this, changing my and my mother’s lives, that’s why I’m grateful for this Church activity,” said Patrick Oliimi, who is one among the volunteer brethren led by district supervising minister Brother Dernilo Pascua.
“It’s evident how unity and the giving of aid were filled with compassion. At the end of the day, desired goals were met. The Church continues serving as a beacon of faith and action,” said recipient Manzi Severe, a candidate for baptism from Kampala, Uganda Congregation.
Kireka
Kireka is a town in Wakiso District of Central Uganda. On June 4, the Care for Humanity there was held specifically for the benefit of the Kireka Persons With Disability Development Initiative’s (KPDDI) community, which is five kilometers away from Kira, Uganda Extension.
Aside from the 650 care packages provided, and a medical mission wherein free checkups and medicines were given, was the Borehole and Waterpump Handover Inauguration. Brother Pascua led its ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“It’s a wonderful occasion having been able to show our love to fellow countrymen. I’m thankful for the care packages I received,” said Technical Support for Video streaming officer Elijah Mwesigye of the said extension.
“We appreciate and thank the Church Of Christ for supporting the lives of people here,” said nonmember Mackean Steve, KPDDI patrol. — With assistance from Ryan Paule and Montriville Boy
